The Water’s Edge
The baptism of Jesus (Matthew 3:13-17) reveals that God meets us at the water’s edge, not to lift us out of the reality of our humanity, but to join us in it — calling us into relationship…community-shaped righteousness, justice-seeking service, and identity as beloved. Through Baptism, God forms us into people who live for life, and lives, beyond ourselves. Even when the pattern of our lives is hard to see, God sees the whole design and calls us to step faithfully into the water.
