The Wandering Way
We began the season of Lent yesterday with Ash Wednesday, and this Sunday marks the first Sunday of Lent. Our Lenten journey together is truly a journey this year as we explore he concept of life as a pilgrimage. Between the book we are reading, Father Richard Rohr’s Falling Upward: A Spirituality for the Two Halves of Life, and the movie “The Way,” we have some great imagery and guideposts for examining our lives in terms of a pilgrimage.
Lent is a time to examine our lives. It’s a time to ask ourselves and God where we need to take a different way, path, or direction. Our destination as people of faith is to come ever nearer to the heart of Christ, but the journey is as transformational as the destination. And taking a different direction doesn’t mean failure; it means that you are in a place now to reassess your path.
I hope you will join me (Rev. Lee) this Sunday to start our pilgrimage together! We will take a look at Psalm 1 and Luke 4:1-13.
