It is human nature to compare ourselves to others, leading to either an inflated sense of self-righteousness or a deep sense of unworthiness.
Perhaps the secret to being a Christian is not to strive to be more righteous or humble, or not any of the things we can put on a scale and measure and compare, but instead to simply receive God’s acceptance, love, and mercy. (Luke 18:9-14)
